First and foremost, we here at EAF hope that everyone had a safe & enjoyable holiday yesterday on Thanksgiving & that none of you lost too much sleep in preparation for Black Friday today! Some of you may have seen this coming what with the recent restructuring down from 3 posts/week to 2 posts/week, but EAF will be taking an indefinite hiatus, beginning at the end of this upcoming week. I believe that I can speak for the entire EAF team when I say that this is in no way easy to announce. We all have deeply enjoyed preparing posts for our readers & loyal followers, especially those who have been with us since the days of TeamUV. STEM writing will always be a passion for most of us & I hope that someday we will be able to re-launch EAF, but as for today, EAF must close its doors.
There is not a singular reason for this seemingly abrupt transition, but rather this is the result of an unfortunate sequence of events that has been in motion for some time now & despite our best efforts, was unforeseen. It has been said time & time again to expect the unexpected, but there are somethings that you simply cannot plan for.
As a send-off, we will have two final posts before the closure. The first of these will occur with a special post on Monday, with the second being a final, farewell Picture Post on Friday. Please tune in for both of these posts, as I can assure you that you will not want to miss either of them & we want to be able to share these two final posts with as many of you as possible.
Following these two final posts, the website will be kept active so that anyone can visit the site & read old posts, but no new posts will be published. Periodic updates might be made from time to time (i.e. updating member bios) in order to keep the website in a recoverable state so that if & when we do decide to relaunch the site, it will be good to go, but beyond that, the site will remain active with regards to usability, but with no new activity. All emails & contact forms for the website will remain active and, as I have all EAF email forwarded to my personal email address, the email & other correspondence will be checked daily & responded to as quickly as manageable. Needless to say, we will not be accepting any Guest Post requests, but if you want to contact us for any other reason, please do not hesitate. We will make our best effort to respond to any emails, or questions about STEM-related topics, or about career mentoring, etc. in a very timely fashion.
Please subscribe to follow the website by email if you have not already done so, as this way if/when the website re-launches, we can send you an email to give you the heads up about the return to posting activity.
From all of us here at EAF, we hope you are enjoying the holidays & strongly encourage you to come back on Monday and Friday of this upcoming week for our final posts!
Thank you for your time
- Brian
